yhawks ran for only 26 yards against Ohio last week. Im trying to figure out who we are right now, because I know were a lot bet Antworten

OXFORD, Miss. -- Mississippi doesnt have an obvious offensive star for the first time in several seasons.Rebels coach Andy Kennedy said thats not necessarily a bad thing, and he hopes a little balance and depth could help lead the program to a third NCAA Tournament in five years. When you look at our team, I think we have five, six or -- Im not kidding -- seven guys who could average double figures, Kennedy said. Its a vastly different look from the past four seasons, when Ole Miss had some of the leagues most prolific scorers. Marshall Henderson scored nearly 20 points per game over a two-year stretch and then came Stefan Moody, who was the SECs leading scorer with 23.6 points per game last year. Now the Rebels will have more of an ensemble cast which features returners like Sebastian Saiz, Rasheed Brooks and Marcanvis Hymon and newcomers like Cullen Neal, Justas Furmanivicius and Deandre Burnett. The 6-foot-9 Saiz is the teams most experienced player, entering his fourth season with the program after averaging 11.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Kennedy said its likely he could average double figures in both points and rebounds if healthy.Hes one of my favorite guys who I have ever had here, Kennedy said. His energy is always right. Hes very positive. Hes going to put in his work and hes really evolved offensively.A good chunk of the teams perimeter scoring figures to come from Burnett and Neal. The 6-foot-2 Burnett sat out last season after transferring from Miami while the 6-5 Neal is a graduate transfer from New Mexico.-----Some other things to know about Ole Miss this season:BURNETTS TIME: Burnetts chance to lead a college basketball team has been a long time coming. The 2012 Parade All-American spent a year in prep school before going to Miami. He injured his wrist in 2013 before his freshman season and didnt play his first college game until 2014, when he averaged seven points per game. He decided to transfer to Ole Miss and had to sit out last season because of transfer rules. Hell be a 22-year-old junior this season.SAIZ BACK AT FULL HEALTH: Saiz returns after battling a scary eye injury last season that resulted in surgery to fix a detached retina. He says the injury has fully healed, though hell still wear protective goggles during games. Kennedy said Saiz is so effective, because of his 7-foot-6 wingspan which allows him to finish around the basket even though he doesnt possess elite athleticism.LEAVING HOME: Neal, the New Mexico graduate transfer, will be playing for Kennedy after spending his first three seasons in college playing for his dad Craig Neal. Kennedy said Neal has been tremendous. Another very hard worker. I dont pretend to think this is anything like what hes been in in the past because he was in a different system. And he was also in a different system playing for his father. So this is something completely new to him as well.OLD MAN KENNEDY: Kennedy is in his 11th season as the Ole Miss basketball coach, making him the longest-tenured basketball coach in the league. The 48-year-old has averaged more than 21 wins per season during his 10 previous seasons, making the NCAA Tournament twice and the NIT five times.VERSATILE JUSTAS: Kennedy is very high on Furmanivicius, a 6-foot-6 junior who can play both guard and forward. He averaged 12.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game at Three Rivers (Mo.) C.C. and is a candidate to jump into the Rebels starting lineup from the first game.---Follow David Brandt on Twitter: www.twitter.com/davidbrandtAP .---AP College Basketball website: www.collegebasketball.ap.org . Best Cheapest Jordan 1 . The 20-year-old Pelicans big man glanced up and smiled widely at the well-wishers -- a fitting end to a day he wont soon forget. Davis responded to his selection earlier in the day as a Western Conference All-Star with 26 points and 10 rebounds, and the New Orleans Pelicans overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 98-91 on Friday night. Burris threw two TD passes, including a key 15-yard fourth-quarter strike to Bakari Grant that effectively countered a Toronto comeback bid and led Hamilton to a 33-19 victory. http://www.cheapestairmaxstore.com/ . PETERSBURG, Fla. Nike Cortez Store . Bradwell was scheduled to become a free agent Tuesday. Nine days before the opening ceremony, organizing committee chief Dmitry Chernyshenko said Wednesday that Sochi is "fully ready" and will deliver safe, friendly and well-run games that defy the grim reports that have overshadowed preparations. MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Mike Norvell got off to a fast start in his debut as Memphis coach. Now, the schedule get a little tougher. After opening his tenure with a 35-17 win over Southeast Missouri State two weeks ago, Norvell and his Tigers host Kansas from the Big 12 -- a league that eliminated Memphis from expansion consideration earlier this month.Being a member of a Power Five conference hasnt helped Kansas on the field. After going winless last season, the Jayhawks (1-1) defeated Rhode Island 55-6 in the season opener before falling to Ohio University 37-21 last week.Memphis had its open date after Norvells opener, so the Tigers have had to be patient. We have no say in when our bye week shows up, so we have to maximize it whether it was late in the year or early like it occurred, Norvell said. With us being a first-year staff, we can definitely take the positives out of it because it gives us another opportunity to continue to get to know each other, to continue to evaluate where we are early in the season.Kansas lost to Memphis 55-23 last year in the only other meeting between these schools. Much has changed for the Tigers since then. Justin Fuente has moved on to coach Virginia Tech, while quarterback Paxton Lynch became the first-round NFL draft choice for the Denver Broncos. Other key players like tight end Alan Cross and wide receiver Mose Frazier also moved on to NFL careers. The thing that sticks out to me is just the contrast in styles between their new quarterback (Riley Ferguson) and obviously Paxton Lynch, Kansas coach Dave Beaty said. Paxton, that dude was a tremendously talented guy. Their new guy is also a talented guy. .He can throw the football.Ferguson threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns in the opener for Memphis.---Some things to watch as Memphis hosts Kansas on Saturday morning::NICE START: Norvell is the first Memphis coach to win his debut since Rey Dempsey in 1984.dddddddddddd. Only one other Tiger coach -- Lester Barnard in 1922 -- won his inaugural game. But Norvell has the opportunity to be the first Memphis coach to start his career 2-0.WHO ARE YOU? Beaty hasnt determined exactly what type of offensive team will emerge after the Jayhawks ran for only 26 yards against Ohio last week. Im trying to figure out who we are right now, because I know were a lot better than what we showed Saturday in the run game, Beaty said. Were probably somewhere in the middle . to be honest with you.THE ROAD UNKIND: Kansas has not fared well on the road in recent years and come to Memphis on a 38-game road losing streak. The last road win came Sept. 12, 2009, when the Jayhawks defeated Texas-El Paso 34-7. No current player on the Kansas roster has ever won a road game.START IS IMPORTANT: Beaty noted the Jayhawks need to start the game with more success. Kansas was down to Ohio 25-0 near the 6-minute mark of the second quarter. We have to start faster, Beaty said. We didnt start fast on either side of the ball. That doesnt bode well for Kansas. Against Southeast Missouri, Memphis was up 29-0 midway through the second quarter.GRAHAM DISCIPLES: Beaty and Norvell both have coaching ties as assistants to Arizona State coach Todd Graham with Beaty in 2006 at Rice and Norvell at a couple of stops, including serving as Grahams deputy head coach for the Sun Devils before taking the helm at Memphis. Beaty even once coached at Norvells old high school.---Online:AP College Football website: www.collegefootball.ap.org and AP-Top 25 Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/AP-Top25 ' ' '
