were popping off at each other, Marshall referenced DeAndre Hopkins, the Houston wide receiver who had a big game last season ag Antworten

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Throw in the towel. The fights over.Darrelle Revis downplayed his skirmish with New York Jets teammate Brandon Marshall, saying that theyve moved on from it and everything is fine between them.Every year Ive been in training camp, guys get after it, Revis said Saturday. Its football, man. Thats how I look at it.Revis acknowledged Saturday that he inadvertently hit Marshall in the face/head area during a play in practice Friday. Its football, and I mean, things happen, Revis said. He might jam, your hand might slip, whatever. You might hit somebody in the head, you might get poked in the eye or you might get your foot stepped on.Marshall took exception to that, though, and the two jawed at each other the rest of the practice, with things coming to a head later when the wide receiver took a swipe at Revis. Its competition, Revis said. Were not going to go into the back and forth of who does what. ... Its training camp and were trying to get better as a team. Were two very competitive guys and this hasnt been the first time with us getting into it.While they were popping off at each other, Marshall referenced DeAndre Hopkins, the Houston wide receiver who had a big game last season against Revis.Marshall acknowledged that he used that to anger Revis, who he accused of saying disrespectful things to him, too. Revis brushed off that comment, as well as everything else Marshall said to him.Nah, its fine, he said. Youve got to do more to get under my skin than that.Revis added that he thought it was actually good for the two of them to go at it the way they did. He also said they would definitely get after it again in future practices.Brandons not going to stop competing the way he competes, Revis said, and Im not going to stop competing the way I compete.Marshall spoke to reporters Friday and said they crossed that line. The receiver also acknowledged that he respects Revis as the greatest to play his position, and predicted that things would be smoothed over.Yeah, man, everythings fine, Revis said. To me, its just football. Were both trying to do a job here.Coach Todd Bowles had no problem with the way Revis and Marshall went back and forth, but added that he doesnt want players swinging at each other. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick thought the entire situation was no big deal.I mean, it was just a good, high-energy practice, Fitzpatrick said. I think sometimes things can be overblown a little bit. Thats all we took it as as players.Revis and Marshall matched up only once during Saturdays late-afternoon practice, and there were no further heated situations. Bowles said that was just a function of the plays the team was running, and there was no intent to keep the two stars separated on the field. Were moving on, Revis said. I might get into a scrap with another receiver tomorrow. Thats just what it is. Its competition. Its what we do. Its training camp.Saturdays session marked just the second full practice for Revis, whom the Jets had been easing back from offseason wrist surgery. He said there were no residual effects in the wrist from Fridays physical practice.Everythings fine, he said. I think the more I jam and the more I get reps out there on the field and go against some wide receivers is definitely helping me strengthen it even more.Game notes Fitzpatrick said he threw less this offseason than he usually does because of his contract stalemate that ended the day before training camp began. Im kind of surprised my arm has felt as good as it has, the quarterback said. It may have been helpful for me. Fitzpatrick, who can become a free agent again after this season, was asked if he might do things the same way next year. He looked down and just laughed. ... CB Juston Burris, the teams fourth-round draft pick, sat out with what Bowles said is a bruised thigh. The rookie and tight end Brandon Bostick came together hard on a play Friday in which Bostick made the catch and both were slow to get up. Thousands of Southern California fans enveloped the Trojans to celebrate an improbable win secured by an interim coach, an inconsistent kicker and a thin defence that wouldnt break. MILWAUKEE -- Brewers right-hander Wily Peralta made a strong return to the majors. Just not strong enough to win.Peralta matched his season highs with six innings and six strikeouts, but Tyrell Jenkins countered with six solid innings and the Atlanta Braves beat Milwaukee 2-1 on Tuesday night.Peralta (4-8) was recalled Monday when the Brewers placed right-hander Junior Guerra on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation. He allowed two harmless hits through six innings, but then ran into trouble in the top of the seventh when the Braves went ahead. It was very encouraging, for sure, Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. He certainly mixed in more off-speed. Good changeups, curveballs he used, his slider he used. That made the fastball play out as much as anything. They respected his off-speed tonight. He pitched really well. He deserved better.Peralta walked Freddie Freeman before Matt Kemp singled in the fifth. Nick Markakis followed with an RBI hit that chased Peralta. Adonis Garcia welcomed reliever Michael Blazek with a run-scoring hit.I had a hard time early when I was here, Peralta said. Its a lot of emotion. I feel like I was pretty much making my debut today.Peralta, the 2016 opening day starter, was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on June 12. He made 13 starts before the demotion and had just two quality starts, none in his last six.Jenkins (2-2) allowed one run and three hits. He walked three and struck out three in his sixth career start and 10th major league appearance. The right-hander has a 1.00 ERA over his past three starts. He competes and competes and competes, Braves interim manager Brian Snitker said of the young right-hander. Thats the one thing I admire about him.His only mistake was Ryan Brauns home run in the fourth. The one guy in our meetings we stressed to not let him beat us was Braun. Jenkins said.dddddddddddd I kept that in mind.Mauricio Cabrera pitched the ninth for his third save.Jonathan Villar hit into a 4-6-3 double play in the eighth, but the Brewers challenged the force out at second and the call was overturned because shortstop Erick Aybar missed the base. Snitker then asked the umpires to review Manny Pinas slide into second base, and the slide was deemed legal.Chaz Roe took over and got the final out when Orlando Arcia grounded to third and Pina ran into the tag.Snitker, who was named interim on May 17, took over a club that was 9-28. Since then, the Braves are 34-42.When you handle adversity, there is good things on the other end of it Snitker said. But, you have to handle it. You take ownership of things and handle it.The victory was the Braves 10th in the last 14 games, including six in the last seven.DONT RUN ON MEAnthony Recker strayed too far off second in the top of the third and catcher Pina recorded his second caught stealing of the game when he fired a strike to shortstop Arcia. In the first, Pina threw out Ender Inciarte trying to steal second.STREAK IS OVERVillar was caught stealing and made the third out in the sixth. It snapped a streak of 24 consecutive successful stolen base attempts, which was a franchise record.TRAINERS ROOMBrewers: OF Domingo Santana started in right field and went 0 for 2 with a strikeout in his second game of a rehab assignment with Class A Wisconsin.UP NEXTBraves: RHP Joel De La Cruz (0-4, 3.41 ERA) makes his fifth start of the season and first against Milwaukee.Brewers: RHP Chase Anderson (6-10, 5.01) makes his first start against the Braves this season.
