The seven rookies who have played have contributed, but the guy who has altered the teams approach has been Janovich. Denver spent just 25 snaps in a two-back set all of last season, but has been in a two-back set at least 22 snaps in four of their games (in each of those games) and at least 11 times in all five games so far. And they have gone that route because Janovich, the Broncos sixth-rounder, has shown them he can contribute as a runner, a receiver and, of course, as a lead blocker. The 6-foot-3, 212-pounder is still technically the No. 3 receiver behind Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead, but the Saints have clearly shown enough trust in Thomas to make him a valuable part of the mix. Higbee was also a fourth-round pick, and though he impressed throughout training camp, he has been targeted only six times. Higbee has taken a lot of snaps as a blocker, though. -- Alden GonzalezSan Francisco 49ersCornerback Rashard RobinsonApologies to defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who has been solid if unspectacular while leading Niners defensive linemen in snaps, but Robinson has been one of the teams most pleasant surprises. With Jimmie Ward out, Robinson has stepped into the starting lineup and looked the part of a guy who doesnt want to relinquish the job when Ward returns. According to Pro Football Focus, Robinson has been targeted eight times over the past two weeks, yielding just four receptions for 31 yards, with three pass breakups. When Ward returns, the 49ers would be wise to figure out how to keep Robinson, a fourth-round pick, on the field. -- Nick WagonerSeattle SeahawksNose tackle Jarran ReedAmong the Seahawks top six draft picks, five have missed at least one game because of injury. That includes Reed, who started the first three games but was sidelined in Week 4 with a hip injury. The second-round pick from Alabama has looked the part. He has been stout against the run and has showed some pass-rushing chops with a couple batted passes. Jarran Reeds a really good technique football player, coach Pete Carroll said. Had he not been, he would not have been able to stay with these guys. He had a great upbringing, great coaching and all that. So we just fit him in, and it made sense to him.
