CLEVELAND -- It hasnt happened yet this season, but the Browns believe Jamar Taylor will help them win down the road.Cleveland signed the 26-year-old cornerback to a three-year, $15 million contract extension on Saturday, locking up a player theyve identified as part of their future core.The deal includes a $3 million signing bonus and $10.05 million in the first two years of the contract.Taylor, who was acquired by the Browns (0-12) in a trade on draft day with Miami, has made 10 starts and has 40 tackles (33 solo) and two interceptions. He missed the Nov. 10 game against Baltimore with a groin injury.Taylor had been scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March before reaching the deal.Jamar has been a really good addition to our secondary and we are happy to come to an agreement with him on an extension, said Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown.Hes an extremely hard worker and has shown true perseverance throughout his NFL career.
