Ross Brawn has played down recent speculation he is about to take a leadership position in Formula One.Reports in Auto Bild this week suggested Brawn had agreed to replace Bernie Ecclestone as CEO, while other reports said he was being lined up for a job as sporting chief. The former Mercedes boss has been linked to a controlling role ever since Liberty Media agreed to purchase a controlling stake in F1 earlier this year. However, with Liberty Medias takeover not set to be completed until next year, Brawn says the company has not started the process of deciding who will lead the sport in future.?Liberty have not got far enough down the road to make any commitments yet, told BBC Sport. Im doing a little consulting to help them better understand F1 but thats all.Liberty has already installed Chase Carey as F1 chairman and kept CEO Ecclestone, who asked for a three-year contract. There is no confirmation how long Ecclestone will remain in that role, though it is widely expected his job will eventually be split between two or more people looking after the commercial side and the sporting side.Brawns expertise would be invaluable on the sporting side, helping to shape the rulebook and legislation process. He has already revealed, in a new book, Total Competition, set for release on Thursday, that he has previously turned down a rule-making job in Formula One because he wanted to avoid the sports politics -- adding that he would be interested in something on the technical side.?Zak Brown has been linked to the other yet-to-be-created job role, which would deal with sponsorship, race fees and contracts with teams. In September Brown said he would love to participate in the sport in some way in future. Luis Gonzalez Jersey . -- Patrick Reed got an early start in golf.
