ts and eight boards over the past five games, Jones has provided 1.8 3-pointers and 1.2 swats per game over the past five games. Antworten

Working the waiver wire is crucial to succeeding in fantasy basketball. With so many games, injuries and endless shifts in rotations throughout the season, we need to source stats from free agency in order to maximize our imaginary rosters. In this weekly series, we identify players available in more than 40 percent of ESPN leagues at each position. Some nominations are purely specialists capable of helping in one or two categories, while others deliver more diverse and important statistical offerings. Either way, we believe the names below-ordered by ownership rate at each position-can contribute positively to fantasy rosters.Point guardPatrick Beverley, Houston Rockets (Owned in 33.7 percent of ESPN leagues): The Rockets have proved to be nearly indomitable with Beverley in the lineup. Part of this success is fueled by his elite defense, as he rates third among point guards in defensive real plus-minus and over the past 10 games is ninth among guards in steals per game. With 1.9 3-pointers, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game over his past 10 games, lets look past the paltry scoring output and instead focus on these rare contributions in crucial categories.Sergio Rodriguez, Philadelphia 76ers (20.9): Only Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul and James Harden have averaged more passes per game than Rodriguez this season. Eighth in frontcourt touches per game and with Jerryd Bayless out for the season, Rodriguez is a cheap source of dimes, steals, and 3-pointers.J.J. Barea, Dallas Mavericks (10.0): The crowd understandably had to move on from Barea as he was sidelined with a significant calf injury, but now that hes on the mend, its time to resurface he ranks 13th in frontcourt touches and ninth in drives per game during a career-best offensive sample earlier this season.Shooting guardTyler Johnson, Miami Heat (45.9): Minutes are the coin of the realm in fantasy hoops, while Johnson is playing nearly 33 per game over the past 10 and is producing helpful metrics from beyond the arc and 1.2 steals and an atypical 0.8 blocks over this sample.Gary Harris, Denver Nuggets (24.7): Back in the starting mix for the Nuggets up-tempo offensive scheme, Harris has averaged 17 points and 1.5 steals and 3-pointers over the past two games.Nick Young, Los Angeles Lakers (22.4): Luke Waltons fantasy-friendly system supports Youngs awesome shooting output, as hes become a specialist from beyond the arc for the Lakers. Young is fifth among guards in 3-point attempts per game, just behind this Steph Curry character and just ahead of Klay Thompson.Small forwardMaurice Harkless, Portland Trail Blazers (48.8): Available in early half of ESPN leagues, Harkless is 10th in steals per game over the past 10 games and provides a unique 3-and-D profile for fantasy purposes.T.J. Warren, Phoenix Suns (39.6): Back Saturday from a 13-game absence, its wise to prove proactive with Phoenixs emergent wing, as hes sixth among forwards in points per touch and should resume a heavy workload in the games ahead.Bojan Bogdanovic, Brooklyn Nets (32.2): As a starter over the past eight games, Bogdanovic has emerged as a worthy fantasy asset with two 3-pointers per game and 17 points per on a Brooklyn team leading the league in pace.Power forwardErsan Ilyasova, Philadelphia 76ers (39.3): Even with the increased traffic for minutes and touches in the Philly frontcourt with Nerlens Noel back in the mix, Ilyasova continues to claim a firm stake of shots and minutes as the teams top stretch four. Over the past seven starts, hes averaged 17.3 points, 9.1 boards and a helpful two 3-pointers per game.Marvin Williams, Charlotte Hornets (29.0): An injury-plagued start to the campaign disappointed draft investors, yet Williams is surging recently with results in points and steals.Jon Leuer, Detroit Pistons (25.4): With at least 17 points in three of the past four games and a steady role in the Pistons tight rotation, Leuer can help in deeper formats.Terrence Jones, New Orleans Pelicans (17.5): With 11.6 points and eight boards over the past five games, Jones has provided 1.8 3-pointers and 1.2 swats per game over the past five games.CenterCody Zeller, Charlotte Hornets (24.8): Zeller has emerged as a viable fantasy asset thanks to playing the best interior defense on the Hornets while capably cleaning the glass.John Henson, Milwaukee Bucks (21.4): Blocks are an absolutely scarce statistic to source from the waiver wire, while Henson is fifth in the league in blocks per game over the past 10 with a 2.4 per game. As a steady rim protector for the Bucks, Henson is a valuable depth addition in leagues with 12 teams.Kosta Koufos, Sacramento Kings (2.2): Available in well over 90 percent of ESPN leagues, Koufos is thriving with extended exposure for a Kings team in need of his scoring in the second unit. Shane Hnidy joins Brian Munz for the broadcast on TSN 1290 Radio at 7pm ct. OAKLAND -- The Chicago Cubs activated outfielder Jorge Soler from the disabled list and designated relief pitcher Joe Nathan for assignment on Friday.Soler, 24, batted sixth and played designated hitter in his first game since June 6, a 7-2 win over the Oakland Athletics. In his first at-bat, he hit a three-run home run in the first inning. Soler also reached on a fielders choice and scored on Javier Baezs double in the third.Soler injured his hamstring two months ago, which continued his yearly trend of spending time on the disabled list because of leg problems. Soler split his rehab time between Double-A and Triple-A and hit .162, which led manager Joe Maddon to indicate that Soler needed to work on his timing before he was recalled. The team changed course this weekend, knowing that it could install Soler in the DH role and admitting that an extended stay in the minors wasnt energizing him.I think youre going to see better, Maddon said Friday afternoon. Ive seen that with guys that have to go back to Triple-A for an extended period of time. ... Im not saying its right or wrong, it just happens.Maddon said there are no restrictions on Soler, who will be watched carefully as he restarts his season.dddddddddddd He had five home runs and a .223 batting average in 130 at-bats in the first part of this season.I want to see how he responds to all this, Maddon said.Nathan, 41, returned this season after having his second major elbow surgery and was signed by the Cubs in May, well before they added lefties Mike Montgomery and Aroldis Chapman via trades. The Cubs didnt have time to bring Nathan along as they begin their pennant push.He needed more time, Maddon said. We had so many other people to get involved. It just didnt work out immediately in a sense. The Cubs want to bring second baseman Tommy La Stella back from the minors, though he was given personal time after being optioned last weekend.Hes taking batting practice, staying active, Maddon said of La Stella. Were trying to get him back up here. Its not clear-cut.We have so many tough decisions to make. ... Im not bemoaning anything. This is the first time in a long time that the Cubs have had a healthy roster. ' ' '
