PITTSBURGH -- Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin fought to a draw on their home ice.Canada, however, remains a bit ahead of Russia. At least for now.Ryan Getzlaf beat Sergei Bobrovsky on a breakaway at 3:29 of overtime to give Team Canada to a 3-2 victory over Team Russia in a World Cup of Hockey exhibition Wednesday night.Bobrovsky made 45 stops, some of them spectacular, but couldnt wrangle the puck when Getzlaf slipped it between his pads during the 3-on-3 extra session.John Tavares and Patrice Bergeron scored for Canada. Crosby assisted on Bergerons score while playing under Bergerons score while playing underneath the familiar banners at Consol Energy Center. Carey Price had 24 saves for Canada , which finished 2-1 in exhibitions before the eight-team tournament begins in Toronto this weekend.I think the whole thing with a short tournament event is to keep getting better, keep improving and keep building off each game, said Crosby, who had two assists in the three exhibitions. I think were able to do that. I think theres still another level but Im sure thats the case for a lot of teams. We need to get to that level gradually.Artemi Panarin had a goal and an assist for the Russians. Alexander Ovechkin also scored. Evgeni Malkin assisted on Ovechkins goal to match longtime Pittsburgh teammate Crosby. We go up against each other a lot, Malkin said. Hes tough on the boards protecting puck every time. Its a hard battle against him. I like how I play too.The Canadians open the tournament Saturday against the Czech Republic. Russia, which went 1-1-1 in three tuneups, begins on Sunday against Sweden. We didnt lose the game right away, Ovechkin said. We battled and got the lead. The boys feel much better now and for the future.Canada is a heavy favorite to continue its run atop international play, a surge that started with a triumph at the 2010 Olympics and continued two years ago in Sochi when they grabbed gold again while the host Russians missed the medal stand completely.Anything less than hearing O Canada play after the finals at the end of the month would be a disappointment, particularly at home. Its a role Crosby and his countrymen thrive in though theyve been a bit uneven during their three exhibitions, following up a 5-2 romp over the US last weekend with an up-and-down performance against Russia. Canada dominated early then spent the middle portion of the game on its heels a bit before collecting itself late.I think weve gotten more and more comfortable, Crosby said. Special teams is going to be big ... Its a process but I thought we definitely got better with every game and generated a lot.Crosby and Malkin both joked about facing against each other on the same sheet of ice theyve shared for a decade, with Crosby good naturedly saying he may take a friendly shot at Malkin if the moment called for it. The moment ended up coming in the first period, when the two briefly met in the corner before Malkin skated away with both players unharmed.Canada controlled the first period and took the lead when Crosby fed a streaking Bergeron , who slipped it by Bobrovsky to put the Canadians in front during a 20-minute stretch in which they outshot the Russians 14-5 and tilted the ice heavily to once side.Russia slowly found its footing and finally converted when Malkin won a faceoff and dropped it to Panarin, who slipped it across the ice to Ovechkin. The Washington Capitals star drilled a one-time from his familiar spot in the left circle to tie it 3:40 into the third . Panarin put Russia up less than four minutes later when he jumped on a rebound to give the Russians the lead.Tavares picked up his third goal in as many exhibitions by threading a wrist shot from the top of zone by Bobrovsky at 13:58. Bobrovsky sent the game to overtime with a series of stellar stops in the final minutes of regulation, including a slick glove hand save against Crosby from in close.I like how we play, Malkin said. Next time we play semifinal or final I hope. Swell Water Bottle Clearance . Carey Price didnt, but he still came out on top against one of his rivals for the No. 1 job at the Sochi Games. The Anahim Lake, B.C., native was stellar in making 39 saves in his home province and Lars Eller got credit for a bizarre short-handed winner as the Canadiens defeated the Canucks 4-1. Still, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke thought taking him out before the fifth inning was an unusual move. "Im looking up at the board and hes got two hits given up and one run, and Im taking him out after the fourth inning," Roenicke said. Discount Swell Bottles . -- The Bishops Gaiters are showing they belong among the countrys top varsity football teams. There are just five NBA games on tap for Thursday evening, which certainly cuts down a bit on the variety of potential starting DFS lineups. Which players should you build around, and which players should you fade? Our experts have the answers.Todays panel includes ESPN Fantasys Kyle Soppe and Renee Miller, plus DFS expert Al Zeidenfeld.Players to build aroundKyle Soppe --?Wilson Chandler, Denver NuggetsThere is no shortage of star players in action tonight and Im not going to try to sway you on which one (or two) to roster. Instead, Im handing out a strong value play that allows you to plug in whatever high-end option youd like. The Nuggets may not be a good team, but they own the second-highest implied total on the board tonight and Chandler figures to lead their attack, thanks to his 12th-highest usage rate among SF this season.Chandler is averaging career-highs in field goal attempts and rebounds this season, raising the floor from years past. The Blazers rarely bring it on the defensive end, and given that they are in the middle of a nine-game, 15-day stretch that sees them play eight times on the road, I cant imagine tonight being the night that they decide to buy in on the defensive end.Renee Miller -- Nikola Jokic, Denver NuggetsMore often than not, youll find me putting the PF facing Portland in this space. No team gives up more fantasy points to opposing bigs than the Trail Blazers. Further, while Portland ranks 25th in rebounding rate, the Nuggets are No. 1, and the efficient play of Jokic is a big reason. Id love to see Jokic play more than 24-28 minutes per night, but even those limited minutes have allowed him to rack up five double-doubles in the past six games hes played. As good as hes been, tonight could be a truly masterful showing from Jokic, who is an especially good value on FanDuel.Al Zeidenfeld -- Damian Lillard, Portland Trail BlazersIts a small slate, but there are a lot of quality options to choose from tonight. The player I cant keep out of my lineup is Lillard because of the matchup and pace against the Nuggets. This game should be the most competitive and high-scoring affair of the night, and in those situations you want as much exposure to the primary ball handlers as possible in order to maximize as much of the fourth quarter usage as you can. I wouldnt be surprised to see people roster four players from this game on ttheir primary lineups.dddddddddddd To me, tonight starts with Lillard, and then you can build outward.Players to fadeKyle Soppe -- Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors Fresh off of his first triple-double of the season, Green is priced in the same tier as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.?No thanks, Ill pass. Greens usage rate ranks 37th this season -- among power forwards. His well-rounded skill set is nice, but with a low shot total and a low free throw count, you essentially need elite production from Green in all other categories for him to reach value. Could that happen? Sure, but thats a significant risk to take given both his price and a likely matchup with Kristaps Porzingis. Greens ceiling isnt high enough for me in this spot, and the blowout potential of this game is another concern that is very real tonight.Renee Miller -- Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee BucksThere are a lot of game-time decisions and questionable designations on tonights slate. I think Antetokounmpo plays tonight, but Im personally more inclined to spend up on Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, or Damian Lillard tonight. Those guys are playing in faster paced games with higher projected point totals, and with equal or better defensive matchups. Plus, there arent any injury concerns with that trio. When Im paying one of the top salaries, as Antetokounmpo commands, I dont want any question marks.Al Zeidenfeld -- Paul George, Indiana PacersGeorge just doesnt do enough on a consistent basis to justify the price he carries on DraftKings, yet hes surrounded by players just a few hundred dollars above and below his price that do. Carmelo Anthony, Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard are all higher than George in my projections for tonight, each of them sitting within $1,000 in salary (in both directions). George is capable of a big game, but the probability of him having one is less likely and less predictable than those around him. Ill wait for a price drop before investing again.Al Zeidenfeld is a promoter and user at DraftKings (Username: Al_Smizzle) and plays on his personal account in games he offers advice on.
