Jake Cave got the Twins offense started with a 2-run homer in the 1st inning. Kyle Gibson and a trio of relievers held the A’s to just 1 run on 8 hits. Matt Olson provided the only offense for Oakland, with his solo homer to right-center in the 2nd inning. In the 4th, Minnesota added the final three runs of the ball game. Grossman singled, and then Tyler Austin reached on an error. Max Kepler then hit a single to score Grossman, and Ehire Adrianza lined an RBI double to center. Chris Gimenez hit a sac-fly RBI for the 3rd run of the inning. Gibson didn’t rack up the strikeouts today, but was able to get a ton of ground-outs including a couple of double plays.
