Islands 7,005-yard, par-70 Seaside course will be the feature track and the site of play for the remaining field on Saturday and Antworten

The fall portion of the 2016-17 PGA Tour concludes this weekend with the RSM Classic at Sea Island Resort in St. Simons Island, Ga.And although more than 25 fully exempt PGA Tour players in the field either live nearby or consider the Sea Island Golf Performance Center as their base, its anything but a certainty that the title will be won by a hometown favorite. The event, which was founded in 2010 and formerly called the McGladrey Classic, is famously hosted by PGA Tour player Davis Love III, one of many Tour players among the areas residents.Love is faced with myriad of responsibilities and challenges before and during tournament week. On top of his tournament host duties, Love also competes in the event and said that when its time to tee it up he simply wants to go play. Its worth all the hard work to get to do what I go do, Love III said. I want to continue to see how good I can get. World No. 1 is probably not realistic at (52) years old, but staying out on the PGA Tour until you are 60 and trying to win more golf tournaments is a fun goal.Three of the previous four champions of this event claimed their first title here, including Kevin Kisner, who won by six shots last year while setting 54- and 72-hole scoring records.Kisner validated a year of near misses in with a dominating victory, shooting 12-under par on the weekend to cruise to the win over distant runner-up Kevin Chappell.Kisners six-stroke victory in 2015 is the largest in tournament history. Until 2015, all five previous editions in the RSMs short history had been decided by no more than one shot.It was one of those weeks when everything was going my way, and you have to remember those because they dont happen very often, Kisner said.Kisner temporarily relocated to St. Simons Island while his Aiken, S.C., house was being renovated. Two of the tournaments six champions have been part-timers -- Kisner and Chris Kirk (2014). But with all the big names that call St. Simons Island home, the RSM Classic still is looking for its first true hometown winner. The closest a fulltime resident has come was Loves tie for fourth in 2012.Eleven players in the field seeking their first win have at least one runner-up finish since the beginning of the 2015-16 season.Other Golden Isles residents in the field this week are Matt Kuchar, Zach Johnson, Harris English, Brian Harman, Hudson Swafford, Patton Kizzire, Bobby Wyatt and Trey Mullinax. The tournament usually has a strong field because of its place on the schedule right before the holidays, the challenging courses at the resort and the measuring stick it provides players before many go on an extended break.Ten players who are ranked inside the top 30 in the FedExCup standings are in the 156-player field that will battle for the $5.7 million purse, $1.026 million of which goes to the winner. The highest ranked-players in the field in the Official World Golf Rankings are Kuchar (No. 20), Brandt Snedeker (26), Chappell (28), Jim Furyk (34), Johnson (35), Bill Haas (38) and Kisner (41).Sea Islands 7,005-yard, par-70 Seaside course will be the feature track and the site of play for the remaining field on Saturday and Sunday.Once again, entrants also will play one of the first two rounds at the revamped Plantation course.Unlike Harbour Town to the north, Sea Island was fortunate to suffer minimal damage from Hurricane Matthew. The Seaside Course withstood Mother Nature better than the Plantation and Tour officials said damage set them back only about a week in preparation. The RSM Classic is the seventh event in the PGA Tours wraparound schedule that bridges two years with 47 official events.Over the span of 43 weeks, players vie to become the FedExCup Champion. After a break, the season will resume in January with the traditional swing through Hawaii before moving to the West Coast. Discount Ecco Shoes Online .J. -- New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz will miss the rest of the season after having surgery on his left knee. Discount Ecco Shoes Sale . The 29-year-old Baines has established himself as one of the top attacking full backs in the country and was the subject of two bids from United during the last off-season. Everton manager Roberto Martinez says that keeping Baines at the club is a "massive boost and exciting for the future" because he brings "maturity and football knowledge in a very specialized position on the pitch" and an "infectious and positive influence to the rest of the squad. http://www.cheapecco.us/ .com) - The Calgary Flames aim to bounce back from their first regulation home loss of the campaign on Friday night when they host a Detroit Red Wings club that they swept in three meetings a season ago. Aluko was making his first start in four months after recovering from an Achilles injury. Ecco Shoes Wholesale .J. -- Marty Brodeur beat the Pittsburgh Penguins yet again. WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Establishing consistency is at the core of the new-look Purdue football program under enthusiastic interim coach Gerad Parker. An inability to play with any consistency led to athletic director Mike Bobinskis decision on Oct. 16 to fire fourth-year head coach Darrell Hazell, who was 9-33, and replace him with 35-year-old Parker, who has a riverboat gamblers approach to facing No. 24 Penn State on Saturday in Ross-Ade Stadium. The Boilermakers (3-4, 1/3 Big Ten) played with energy and passion last Saturday in a 27-14 loss at No. 7 Nebraska, leading the Cornhuskers 14-10 at halftime. They will need to do it again against red-hot Penn State (5-2, 3-1), which upset then-No. 2 Ohio State 24-21 last weekend.Parker is eager to show fans and the rest of the Big Ten that Purdue is capable of back-to-back efforts that feature consistent play.I told somebody the other day that (football) is a very emotional game, and guys and teams that play at a high level are able to find that emotion each and every week, said Parker, who is also Purdues receivers coach. Thats something that weve got to understand here and do better here to get where we need to go. We did expend a lot of energy at Nebraska, and so did Penn State (against Ohio State). We will find a way. Thats my job.It wont be easy for a Purdue team that has not won consecutive games since November 2012, when Danny Hope was coach. This season, Purdue was beaten by 18 points by Cincinnati, by 43 points by Maryland and by 14 points by Iowa in games following its three victories.Purdue quuarterback David Blough said Parker is making it clear that a poor performance following a good effort no longer will be tolerated.dddddddddddd.He tells us to just let it ride, which is the best way to put it, Blough said. He is one heck of a dude. I think anybody on this team would take a bullet for him. Adversity can pull the coward out of you or show the man that is inside. Something like this can make you bitter, or it can make you better. A lot of guys have chosen to make themselves better.Linebacker JaWhaun Bentley anticipates an even better effort against Penn State. Its no secret that there was a lot that went on last week, Bentley said. We definitely were into it and ready to play at Nebraska. We have to continue to lay it on the line. There is no such thing as a moral victory. I am not a believer in that. Our practices are a lot faster now, and our technique is better, too. Were not going to decrease it. We are going to increase it. Were looking to come out and win.Game notes Parker said Tuesday that senior defensive tackle Jake Replogle, who has missed two consecutive games because of headaches, likely will return against Penn State. ... While the Nittany Lions are 0-2 on the road, Purdue has lost seven in a row to Penn State by an average margin of 13.6 points. The Boilermakers most recent victory in this series was 20-13 in 2004 in State College, Pa., when former NFL quarterback Kyle Orton was the Purdue QB. ' ' '
