Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of right-handed pitcher Kyle Bellamy and left-handed pitcher Kyle Anderson to contracts for the 2014 season. Cheap Under Armour Curry Shoes . Bellamy, 26, missed all of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery. He last pitched in 2012 in the Chicago White Sox organization, splitting time between Class A Advanced Winston-Salem of the Carolina League and Class AA Birmingham of the Southern League. He had no record, a 1.65 ERA and four saves in 18 appearances out of the bullpen with Winston-Salem. In 16 relief appearances with Birmingham, he went 1-2 with a 4.68 ERA. “Were going to give him the opportunity to pitch the ninth inning for us,” Forney said. “He had a lot of success with the White Sox organization. Unfortunately, hes had a couple seasons where hes missed significant time because of injury that has somewhat derailed his professional career. Were excited to have him. Hes a sidearm pitcher with a lot of deception in his delivery. We think he can be the perfect fit for us at the back of the bullpen.” Bellamy was selected by the White Sox in the fifth round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft and played three seasons in their system, including parts of two summers at Class AA. He missed the entire 2011 season due to a shoulder injury. He attended spring training with the White Sox earlier this month before being released. Anderson, 23, has played the last two seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization after being signed as a free agent following his college career at Cal Poly. In 15 starts with Class A Short Season Vancouver of the Northwest League last season, he went 5-3 with a 2.71 ERA. All five of his starts that went at least six innings were quality starts. “Hes a young left-hander that were going to insert into our starting rotation,” Forney said. “He competes well in the strike zone, has tremendous command, great mechanics and hes a really reliable guy. Hes exactly what I was looking for in the back of my rotation.” The Goldeyes now have 23 players signed for the 2014 season, including 12 pitchers and 11 position players. Conners beat Denny McCarthy of Rockville, Maryland, 1 up at Atlanta Athletic Club, and Yang edged Frederick Wedel of The Woodlands, Texas, in 19 holes. Last year in the 36-hole final at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, Englands Matthew Fitzpatrick beat Australias Oliver Goss. Conners, from Listowel, Ont., is the first Canadian to reach the final since Gary Cowan won his second title in 1971. Last year, Conners lost to Fitzpatrick in the semifinals. "It feels pretty good to have made it a little bit further than last year," Conners said. "It was a lot of fun last year and I learned a lot. But yeah, Im just really excited about this year. I am playing some nice golf and I am really pumped up for tomorrow to have some fun and try and finish it off." The finalists earned spots in the Masters next year, as long as they remain amateurs. McCarthy, a senior at Virginia, won the par-4 16th with a birdie, and Conners halved the final two with pars to wrap up the match. "The golf course was playing really, really difficult today," Conners said. "I had a lot of very tricky putts, even tricky to two-putt to get it close to the hole. Im pretty happy with how I played." Yang, a sophomore at San Diego State, lost the 18th hole, then won with a 5-foot birdie putt on the 19th -- the par-4 10th. On the extra hole, Wedels approach landed on the fringe about 40 feet away and he two-putted for par. Yang hit his approach within 5 feet. "Fortunately, he gave me another chance and then unfortunately he shot me out on the next," said Wedel, a junior at Pepperdine. ' ' '
