SAN FRANCISCO -- Matt Cain finally started getting his pitches down after a shaky start. Good thing, too, because Giants manager Bruce Bochy was on the verge of pulling his ace in the second inning. That patience paid off for the defending World Series champions and for Cain. "That shows you how tough he is, the makeup of Matt Cain, and how strong he is," Bochy said after the Giants rallied past the Colorado Rockies 7-3 Sunday. "Thats intestinal fortitude in his part. He found a way. Thats as gutty an effort as you can see." Cain (4-2) matched his season high of five walks but allowed only two runs and two hits in five innings. He is 4-0 with a 3.49 ERA in his last five outings after beginning the season 0-2 with a 6.49 ERA in his first six starts. "I thought I might run out of pitches sometime in the third," Cain said. "I just made a little bit better pitches where the balls werent maybe up as much." He walked five of his first 10 batters but retired 11 of his last 12 and improved to 17-7 against the Rockies. "If you dont get him and give him a chance to stay in the game, hes going to make the most of it and thats what he did," Colorados Troy Tulowitzki said. "Once he smells he has a chance to get a win, he turns it up a notch." Brandon Belt hit a tiebreaking two-run double in the fifth, and six pitchers combined for one-run relief, keeping San Francisco tied with Arizona for the NL West lead. Buster Posey homered and Andres Torres added two hits and an RBI to help the Giants close a six-game homestand with consecutive wins. San Francisco plays 14 of its next 18 games on the road. In his first appearance at AT&T Park, Jon Garland (3-6) allowed five runs -- two earned -- seven hits and four walks in five innings. While the Rockies swept a three-game series from the Giants in Denver two weeks ago, Colorado is 1-5 this year in San Francisco, where the Rockies have lost 12 of their last 15. Carlos Gonzalez struck out three times with runners in scoring position after homering in his previous three games. Tulowitzki went hitless after drawing a walk in his first plate appearance while Dexter Fowler reached base four times but scored just once. "We had some opportunities early," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. Michael Cuddyer hit a two-run double in the first for Colorado. Poseys seventh homer trimmed the deficit to 2-1 in the second, and Brandon Crawford tied it when he hit into a run-scoring forceout in the fourth. Belt walked in his first two plate appearances before doubling off Garland to break a 2-all tie. The drive followed a two-out fielding error by second baseman D.J. LeMahieu on Hunter Pences high popup to short right field. Torres RBI double drove in Belt for a 5-2 lead. Pence added a two-run double in the eighth against Edgmer Escalona. Trainer John Moloney is hoping Liberty Song has more luck at Ballarat than he did at his previous start.Liberty Song heads to Ballarat for Saturdays $100,000 Magic Millions 3&4YO Classic (1100m) after a fast-finishing fifth at $101 in a 1000m sprint for three-year-olds down the straight at Flemington on November 1.On that occasion. Liberty Song struck traffic at a crucial stage before finishing well.It actually still looked like he had a bit more to give because he was looking for clear running, Moloney said of the colts Flemington run.I dont know how much quicker he could have gone but it was a pretty sharp effort to do what he did.He meets the impressive winner of that race, the Darren Weir-trained Speedeor, again on Saturday.Depending on how he performs in his next couple of starts he could earn a crack at the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast in January.Liberty Song was ssuccessful at Pakenham in his season return and has won two of his eight starts.ddddddddddddIts not a bad race on Saturday, Moloney said.Theres a couple of handy ones in there with Speedeor and the filly of Mick Prices (Secret Agenda) but hes got a good barrier draw (3) which should help him get a nice run.If he gets cover and a chance to sprint, Im sure he could make his presence felt.Moloney said Liberty Song would need to prove to him he could be effective at 1400m before he decided on a Magic Millions Guineas mission. The Caulfield trainer already has the filly Flying Jess aimed at the $2 million race.Speedeor is the $2.70 favourite to win his third race in a row while dual Group Three-winning filly Secret Agenda is at $3 in the field of nine with Liberty Song is at $17. cheap falcons jerseyscheap ravens jerseyscheap bills jerseyscheap bears jerseyscheap bengals jerseyscheap cowboys jerseyscheap lions jerseyscheap texans jerseyscheap colts jerseyscheap jaguars jerseyscheap chiefs jerseyscheap rams jerseyscheap dolphins jerseyscheap vikings jerseyscheap saints jerseyscheap giants jerseyscheap jets jerseyscheap eagles jerseyscheap steelers jerseyscheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '
